Education Through Tech

Education Through Tech   Hi! My name is JP O’Meara, and I'm sharing this blog post with you today To dive into my education through technology. I am 21 years old, so technology has always been a prominent part in not only learning, but my life in general.I remember all the way back when I was in elementary school and we had our own math devices called flashmasters that we could keep track of our progress on. I definitely could still use the device, as I am absolutely atrocious at math. But on the bright side, getting to use the cool gadgets definitely made it easier to look forward to. Following my experience in elementary school, I feel like I always had a computer in my backpack. At Pelham Memorial High school, where I attended, we were assigned Chromebooks so that we could complete work and submit it through a Google classroom. This was fun because it was my first experience getting to work alongside my friends while being apart from them. When we were first introduced to Google ...

Growing with Technology

Hello!!!! My name is Khalid Fethi and I'm going to be talking about how technology has impacted my education growing up. For as long as I can remember technology has always been a part of my life and has only grown more and more present.       From as far back as kindergarten, technology was already making its way into the classroom. I remember the excitement of seeing two old Apple computers in our class, which we used to play educational games like ABC Mouse. It may sound simple now, but back then, it was a big deal to be able to trace letters on a computer screen. As kids we'd all swarm around whoever was laying and I always felt so cool whenever it was my turn!           By the time I got to middle school, technology took a more prominent role in my learning. At this point computers evolved into laptops and there was enough for everyone in the class! We would use the internet for research or creating powerpoints ...

Growing Up Digital

GROWING UP DIGITAL   Hi! My name is Kate Shelton, and today I'd like to share a little bit about my experience with technology in education. I'm 21 years old, so I've experienced technology become increasingly relevant throughout my schooling. Beginning in elementary school, I remember going to the library to take Accelerated Reader tests on the books we read in class. I wasn't the best reader back then, so these tests made me a bit anxious, however I always looked forward to using the computers at school!  Aside from that, I don't remember much technology use until middle and high school. In middle school, we spent a lot of time in the computer lab working on our typing skills. It was also during this time that most of my classmates and I started getting our first cellphones. This changed the way we communicated, giving us the opportunity to stay in touch outside of school, check our grades through apps like PowerSchool, and practice writing emails. By high school,...
